Description:
A mighty fortress built on the top of a tall mountain. This castle is tall and majestic, it has only one approach by land up a road carved into the side of the mountain itself. This road is wide and not very steep, but it is very long and curves the whole mountain several times. There are tunnels that go through the mountain as well, but these are closely guarded by soldiers and mages working for the Duke.
Food Source:
Nearly all the food has to be brought up to the castle from farms in the valleys below. Many of these valley farms are in fact owned by the Duke who leases them for a yearly portion of the crop yield. Many exotic foods are imported from various trade contacts.
Economy:
Duke Dragoncrest is a major player in trade on the Isle of Man. He has his fingers in many different markets, excluding only weapons, armor, or other tools of war. In fact the Duke barely collects any taxes at all, preferring to be funded by his private enterprises.
Local Attitudes:
The people of the castle are very proud of their role there and nearly all support the Duke. They also welcome travelers and tourists.
