The Ajoran Invasion

Aggressors

• Church of Ajora

A physically small (yet high density) theocratic nation created as a direct result of the previous Ordalian war. A very high concentration of warriors and powerful mages are held within its borders. Some estimates have over 50% of the population in the military, while others have the number closer to 75-85%. Reason for invasion: Power? Goal: Control over the region?

• Vaan

A high elven nation from a continent far away. It has yet to be proven, but widely believed that high elves are advising the Church for dramatically different methods on how to fight. Reason for support of invasion: Cold War with Miin. Goal: Humiliation of Miin; Testing new tactics for a perspective war with Miin.

• Kassandric Horde

A medium-sized group of Kassandra are in the vicinity for no known reason. It is assumed that they are under the control of either Vaan or the Church - but it is possible that they are involved for their own reasons. It is theorized that if the Kassandra really wanted to take over the region, they could (and would) have brought far more knights than they did. Reason for support of invasion: Unknown. Goal: Unknown.

Defenders

• Estate of Hyral

The first of the nations of the region to be invaded, they took the brunt of the force of the Ajoran attack. Combined with the unnatural disaster that occurred a mere hours before the invasion, their forces were mostly decimated and retreated across the northern border with Fovoham. Reason for being invaded: The Estate controls the majority of the wealth in the region, along with dominating the magical power of the continent. Goal: Restoration of lands.

• United Fovoham

Fovoham was the country that declared their support for the Estate first, being members of the same Ivalice Alliance (the third member being Goug). Currently holding the entirety of the Hyral government within its borders, Fovoham is currently under attack by the Ajoran forces - although they are faring far better than their southern brethren. They do not, however, have the power to take back the lands in the South as of yet. Reason for being invaded: Most powerful country military-wise in the region other than the Church itself; holds the remains of the Hyral government and military; holds 90% of the refugees of the Estate. Goal: Complete elimination of the Ajoran threat.

• Goug

Goug is experiencing this war relatively unscathed, although the southwestern islands are under threat from the Ajorans. What limited military they have are on alert to make sure their lands do not suffer the same fate as the Estate's, but are mostly unable to contribute towards the war effort militarily. Reason for support: Family, Alliance. Goal: As little fighting as possible.

• Miin

A foreign mountain elf nation that seems to be working things behind the scenes, just as the high elves are working things dealing with the invasion behind the scenes. Officially, both countries are neutral in the war. Reason for support: Cold War with the High Elves. Goal: Quarantine all Vaan interests, continue Pax Zern.
