PreviouslyOnSharna05/18/2008 - Nashira had been teleported into Falcon's Secret Conference room by Loman Lanthani and left there for Falcon to find her. Falcon gets a message about his security system and messages Epheron to meet him there. Falcon enters and finds his companion of old. Nashira, Falcon, and Epheron talk, get introduced, get caught up, etc. Falcon receives a message to come talk with Ririth the next day, and to bring his friends. In talking with Ririth, they discuss the potential future that Epheron and Falcon saw and how to prevent it. They were sent to investigate the the |Ara Infinitum| and a magical disturbance that happened in Western United Fovoham. They spent the rest of the day in the library investigating the Ara Infinitum, discovering mixed reports of its past, trying to weed the legend from fact. It seems the blade is cursed and results in the wielder not being fully able to control it. Reportedly, one elven prince ended up cutting down his entire army with the blade. From there, the research pulled up an Ajoran parable about a human emperor Epheron also did research into Manaheim, as that was the last place that Loman was known to be going and because of the magical ruins there. It seemed that their combination of insularity and protectionism would make investigating the ruins almost impossible. They teleported to |Fovoham City| and talked with Bob about the disturbance and about Manaheim. He had little information about the disturbance, but could shed more information about Manaheim. One of the Class of 8 had snuck into the ruins to investigate them - Bob could not recall exactly whom, but he was sure it was either Xan Breezeweaver or Purloinous. The group took a plane most of the way to the Disturbance, but stopped short to avoid detection. Their pilot was Janon, an inventor. After a bit of hitting on Nashira and an uneventful flight, they reached their destination and headed the rest of the way on foot. Once they were close enough, they felt an incredible energy density in the air, and closed on the site of the disturbance. They find 15 dead bodies along with weapons, all bisected in one strike. The group investigates, and notices that even the ground was killed by the attack. Epheron finds what seems to be a deviation of the emblem of the Ajoran church. They dig into the ground, where the gash is, and find the remnants of the attack - Lightning sitting in the ground, even so long after the attack. After they find this, a figure shows up - what seems to be the high elf that Nashira saw in Silent Falls. He then announces his intention to attack them, aaaand... Session end! 06/08/2008 - Although the Scan spell revealed his name to be Ela Din, Nashira decided to rename him "Bellicose". He put up a hell of a fight for a level 15 versus two level 15s and a level 10. He also declared his intention of taking Nashira with him and making her his. Before the fight was concluded, however, a huge explosion like a clap of thunder was seen to the south, and Bellicose decided that this had a higher priority, and teleported out. While resting after the battle, the party sees an approaching shock wave. The party teleports back to Cencilia. There they discover that the shock wave seemed to be an attack that devastated anything magic in nature. The land itself was not damaged, but almost all man made structures were. The Estate of Hyral seemed to be the ... target? of the attack, as the damage lessened, GREATLY, at the border. The party investigates the devastated areas, after the effects have had time to wear off, and head to Manaheim. Along the way, they find Dex, who joins them. When they reach Manaheim, they discover the town has been totally destroyed. They start to dig up the rubble when... SESSION END! 07/05/2008 - They invis up and enter the ruins to find that the first floor has been devastated. Huge amount of damage from magical fire and charred corpses. They head to the second floor and find more of the same, however there's also corpses that appeared to die from arrows or bolts. There's also a ring of pots, where only ashes remain of the trees they used to house. From this room led a passage deeper into the ruins, however it was flooded - an oddity, as this area should be well above the water table. At this point, Dex came down to talk to them, and Epheron dropped his invisibility. Dex told them that a squad from the Estate was approaching and would be there in roughly an hour. Falcon also dropped his invisibility to ask Dex if he could explore the flooded depths; Dex called Lord Hydros and dived in. While Dex was down there, Falcon checked the bodies, and found Ajoran holy symbols on some of the corpses. Dex returned and told them that the flooded areas had a number of plants, with a vault at the bottom. He brought back one of the plants in the vault for Nashira to check out. The plant was in a miniature terrarium that had the effect of greatly slowing down time, but the seedling was too young to identify, particularly in the short amount of time available. After this, the group went up to talk with the troops, although Nashira remained invisible. They were a group of ten, calling themselves the Knights of the Red Cross, led by Manki Eritrea. Along with the group was Loman, under the fake name of Irenicus. The group was there to investigate the earthquakes. A few hours after they arrived, a group of Ajoran soldiers and Kassandra attempted an ambush on the group, but Nashira, who was taking a stroll in the woods to get away from the crowd, spotted the Ajorans coming in. During the fight, Dex deduced that there had to be a spy in the Knights. He was right, and abducted a High Elf spy. Also during the fight, Manki had his leadership disabled. Falcon convinced Loman to lead for the rest of the fight. This proved instrumental in winning the day, as Loman provided a massive leadership boost. However, after combat, he passed out from overexertion. Manki revealed that he and his troops all had seen through Loman's disguise, and that they were his knights. Dex then revealed the information gained from his interrogation of the High Elf spy: that the |Church of Ajora| had taken advantage of the disaster to invade the Estate - typical High Elf tactics. |
