MetaThis is the Meta section, or the only section of the Sharna Wiki not considered in character. I'll try to answer questions here, throw links to important things, stuff like that. Sharna is my campaign world. Originally, it started off as the same world as Final Fantasy Tactics (Ivalice), but it doesn't really share much more than a few names and lots of references with that place anymore - it is mine now. Roleplaying adventures in Sharna can be of a number of systems - originally, I ran adventures using The Returners Final Fantasy RPG (Second Edition) system. I didn't particularly like it after working with (or against) the system for awhile, and higher level things just didn't run right at all. Instead of updating to Third Edition where a lot of things I had made were broken even more, I just shifted the entire campaign world to my friend's homebrew Anime Roleplaying System (copyright Seth Mochocki) - albiet with some changes. Then I shifted it again to Perky!, my own homebrew system. Really though, any system that is meant to be able to handle just about anything (GURPS, for instance) could be run on this campaign world. The one thing that can't is D&D - a strict class-based system doesn't exactly work very well and the alignment system in particular would crumble to pieces (for instance, one of the people brought up as an example of "good" in the campaign world would be Lawful Evil by D&D's standards). You will find a large number of references to real life events and real life groups of people. This isn't a coincidence, and please do not assume it is because I don't have respect for the organizations. For instance, the Glabadian Church is mostly based on the pre-reformation Roman Catholic Church. That doesn't mean that the evils comitted by members of the Glabadian Church is my way of making people think that the Roman Catholic Church is evil; this is a game and I'm a history buff, that's all. You could draw parallels between the nation of Miin and the Soviet Union (heck, the MCO is directly based on the KGB and MI6) and the obvious parallel between the USA/USSR's Cold War and the Vaan/Miin Cold War, but that doesn't mean I relate Vaan to the United States or that I believe one side in the real conflict had the moral high ground. It is only a game, after all. Good and Evil do exist in the real world as they do on Sharna. However, good and evil are abstract concepts that mean different things to different people - not something you normally see in a RPG campaign world, but I try to replicate that on Sharna. That's one of the reasons why certain things on Sharna seem a bit too close to reality sometimes. Character Creation:
