Description:
A beautiful city built out of ice enchanted to be like stone, it is at times a peaceful haven of tranquility, and at other times a place filled with harsh winds that create an impenetrable fog of snow.
Food source:
Greenhouses made out of clear ice enchanted to not melt from the warm temperatures inside them house lush gardens. Sometimes artificial light is used during those times the sun is not seen for long periods. Also the scouts will hunt for food.
Economy:
Totally self-reliant they will trade with any merchants that come to the city but do not really need that kind of trade. For those living in the city money is only used on weapons, armor, or especially finely crafted goods. Trading or giving away of favors and small necessities is common amongst the locals. Ice and cold affinity weapons and armor are a city specialty.
Attitudes about foreigners:
They will welcome nearly any small group of travelers. Other elves they will greet warmly (even Dark Elves, although they will watch them more carefully than the others). Half Elves will find that some in the city will look down on them (but not as many as you would expect in an elf city). Humans will be treated well enough, but many of the people have never seen a human so they will get many curious looks. Moogles and Yetis are known of and the elves think they are harmless and amusing.
Any group of 10 or fewer people will be given free lodging for at least a few days after arriving which can extend longer if the people have some sort of contribution to make. Examples would be scholars exchanging knowledge, craftsmen sharing skills, exc...
They will take any group that is larger than 50 or so that shows up at the city to be some kind of invaders.
Other attitudes:
All |Espers| of cold and light affinity are also revered as friends of their goddess Lyreian-Andrius-Indalu. |Espers| of fire or darkness are considered the goddess’ enemies and strict laws prohibit their summoning.
